How to care of our sportswear and extend its lifespan

Most sportswear is made from polyester, nylon, lycra, and elastane. While materials like merino wool or lyocell are also used, these natural fibers require different care than conventional sports apparel.

Our t-shirts from The First Step Chronicles collection are made of 87% recycled polyester and 13% elastane, providing you with ultra-lightweight and breathable tops. To keep them in great condition for a long time, follow these care tips:

- Washing: Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle cycle with a spin speed of 800 RPM to protect the fabric. Use a laundry bag to prevent microplastic pollution since recycled polyester is still plastic.
- Detergents: Avoid fabric softeners. Opt for detergents made from natural ingredients.
- Drying: Never use a dryer. Hang your clothes to dry; they dry very quickly, so no need to worry!
- Frequency: Wash only when necessary. Airing out your clothes can help keep them fresh and eliminate most odors.
- Ironing: Never iron polyester as it doesn’t tolerate high heat.
